Love this! While the clown car stuff is fun, what really drew me to PW was Mike’s unabashed love for capitalistic progress / his sense that we can—and should—be building things to make the world more amazing, and celebrating all who try. Great to see that emerge as its own feature here.

Love this with all my heart. Can’t imagine being the parent of that 13 year old walking out of the hospital knowing that my kid was given something by the doctor I could never have given on my own, namely a future.

On the AI stuff I’m hoping everyone has their own agent one day that’s a bit like a family ghost that they pass down through generations. And when you go over to your friends house one of the things they’ll do is introduce you to their house by name and it will greet you and help you do everything you need to do at the house.

I believe we have enough goodness in us to build a future worth getting excited about.

💬 If there’s enough interest to justify a regular feature

Even if there weren't [enough interest] at the moment, a regular feature is overly justified as kinda charitable public service 😊

I could see a personalized AI therapist that people with depression, low self esteem, or anxiety could interact with on a regular basis. It would learn the history of the subject and use CBT or other techniques to change their thought patterns. Basically, AI reprogramming our inner voices.

Thank you thank you thank you! This was a great read and set my mind whirring. Love the optimism and celebration of human ingenuity. As for the sim, I'd like to try out some different political systems in non-human time (maybe not a million years, but say 500?). For example, ecological capitalism, some new combo of socialism + democracy, a hierarchical society but where leaders are expected to give up all material possessions? The list goes on. It could be used to test out which systems best meet humanity's goals over a short / long / medium term. NB: I am aware that 'humanity's goals' in itself is a thorny challenge but the sim could also be used to explore this question...

100% agree with Jeremy’s comment. PW is fun but TWP is informative and useful!

The level of insanity of the last few years has been eating away at my former high level of optimism. This article and the comments so far have helped bring some of that optimism back. Thank you. And thank you to SS for giving us the room.

I love this content. A lot of the stuff we see in the clown world is because people don't have something to look forward to. The NYT and other msm fanatically highlight everything wrong the world, and sometimes they even tell the truth. But they ignore the upside. It's much easier to stomach all the problems the world has when we see what we are getting in return. Being white pilled gives you a sense of purpose and optimism, and it gives you strength when genuinely bad things happen. Lets see some more!

The extraterrestrials are moat definitely stopping WWIII. I have believed this for a long time. If you look at how many times, nuclear weapons sites have produced strange objects, it doesn't look like a coincidence. Also, I think nuclear weapons affect more than just our world. They reverberate throughout the universe, maybe even time. I know some will think I'm cray. I don't care. I mean what I say.

Love this new format. Would be cool to see what would happen if we humans could program the agents in the simulation to create another simulated controlled environment in which the agents we programmed must do what we just did to the agents. Infinity mirror.
