An uneasy alliance with Robocop
Following decades of endemic car break-ins, and one especially hellish year in which criminals turned to home invasion after tourism declined during Covid, San Francisco smash and grabs have plummeted nearly 10x. In the words of Dreamlife Rizzy, a rapper from Hunter Point, “Crime in San Francisco, period, that shit over with, brother.” Mr. Rizzy points, correctly, to new police tech, including Flock cameras and drones, as the reason for this sharp turn back to order, which Mayor Lurie’s government has leveraged to success. Thus, we face the uncomfortable question of ‘do I want to live in a world of ubiquitous cameras, or do I want to live in a world of crime?’ And look, I do worry about President Cortez’s use of this technology in the next pandemic. There just aren’t perfect answers here. But while we all — respectfully, thoughtfully, fruitfully — have this debate, I’ll enjoy the spectacle of robots dragging criminals to prison.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Cami Clark, Dario Amodei’s wife, once pitched Jeffrey Epstein on a sex-positive “luxury” porn site for women. (“Can’t do sex TV,” Jeff, at that point a registered sex offender, replied.) Blob media believes that we, the public, should know about these things on the basis that Cami is involved in her husband’s career, but the truth is we have noooooooo clue what the ultrawealthy are really doing in their various dungeons. Certainly invite-only, drug-heavy sex parties featuring therapeutic plasma exchanges and professional astrologers are routine. Hopefully there is not much in the way of Satanic cults and Moluch, the god of child sacrifice, but I mean… what I’m trying to say is OF COURSE the future godman of AI is, in a roundabout way, connected to Jeffrey Epstein. This is called the tip of the iceberg, people. Look far, far away, and get back to your knitting.

Philip Qiu, a suspected CCP spy, just bought a nine-story building located one city block (650 ft!) away from the White House. Qiu, who publicly calls the CCP “our party,” and pledged to implement Xi Jinping’s overseas-Chinese directives, is, fun fact, also a trained sniper (!!) evidenced by a 2011 Shanghai University announcement that he underwent special forces training and achieved the best individual “sniper record,” hitting 42 targets. The question is, who let Qiu buy the former LGBT Chamber of Commerce HQ (not joking) in Trump’s backyard? And who is letting CCP-linked purchases happen near 5 other sensitive military facilities across the US?? I’ve been trying to ask Claude about it, but for some reason I keep getting a Kimi styled “hello dear user, let’s switch to another topic.” Anyways, Mr. President, I know you’re good at dodging bullets, but maybe start hanging in the WH basement for a little while.
