Well, it may have come a mere 2,304 days after the World Health Organization officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic, but on July 1 of this year, California state employees finally returned to the office following an executive order from Gavin Newsom.

Yes — six years after the initial spread of this lab-grown pangolin-meat-market-concocted respiratory virus, and with the governor’s totally rational prevention measures of canceling childhood education, filling skate parks with sand, and criminalizing in-person gatherings for everyone but himself far in the rearview, Newsom has finally decided it is safe for bureaucrats to reclaim their cubicles.

Now, roughly 109,000 state employees who had previously been working remotely or on hybrid schedules have returned to the office, where Newsom’s order declares they are henceforth safe to work four days a week. A miraculous triumph! We applaud the governor for this timely victory over a disease that only America’s blue-haired population continues to fear.

And yet, somehow, not everyone is thrilled…
